I understood it is only for manufacturers, dealers, shop owners, etc. No?

Correct.
But I went 4 times before I was in the "biz".
I went through a local off-road shop as one of their marketing guys.
It is amazing, also there are about a trillion (give or take) nice vehicles out side the convention center.
Like this one!

I can't wait...wasn't expecting to get to show my rig I was merely hoping someday I'd get a chance to go. Pretty excited to say the least. What advice do you have for first timers to SEMA?

Congrats! Look over where you WANT to go starting in October. Hit the off-road hall and the Main hall AKA South. There are halls dedicated to paint/electronics etc if that is your desire. SEMA also offers cool industry classes, but have started to charge the last year or so, so I bail. If you get the invite to a party go, but pace yourself. They can crush you the next day.... Are you inside or outside?

So after a quick google search it looks like this SEMA thing is a gay pron convention. Sounds like a great time. I'm in!
