Default Rain annoyance

Have you all noticed that when its raining and the door is open that the little gutter on the side part of the hard top lets the water pour right into the car?

Just wondering if anyone has done anything to overcome that or if there is any product out there to divert the flow.

We refer to it as "Toledo Falls".

Well coined phrase skibum!

Yes we have it too, and it is very poor design. It always manages to run directly onto my knee as I get in or out. The rain gutter is capped at the other end of the freedom panel as well. On the 4-door, the water also comes down the pillar between the doors in a single steady stream and pours under the front seat and into the rear floorboard.

I haven't seen anything that addresses this issue. If someone was good with fiberglass, maybe the gutter could be reshaped, probably hit and miss and a lot of trouble.

I think part of the problem is that so many vehicle designs are computer generated. IMO, there is just no substitute for real world testing. I wonder, do they even build mock-ups any more? With something like this, a garden hose with a little fake rain and the problem would be obvious.

When it is raining, and I am getting in, I just do a quick finger swipe along the gutter to get rid of any standing water, then jump in. Getting out - I just duck.

Park facing uphill. The water will roll along the gutter towards the back then.

Or..

Take the top off... then there is no gutter, and no way for the water to run along side of it.

[sarcasm is only one of the services I offer....]
