Finally got around to doing this today. Jeep had 25K on it and was actually fairly clean... Maybe it was the K&N drop in filter I've been using? Either way I cleaned the little bit of crud off and hooked it all back up and it started without a stutter like it usually does. Super easy.

Are your tb's really dirty? I read about people doing this when I had a TJ so I figured what the hell? Took it apart at 95k miles and it was almost spotless except a light film on the sides that I doubt effected anything.

mine had a bunch of black residue along the inner tube and a slight amount on the back that was more brownish that black. I'm not really sure but all I know is the Jeep started up without it's usual stutter which is good enough for me.

And I really didnt even think it was that dirty, at least as compared to the Ops pics, but the result was incredible.

I did mine yesterday. It took all of 15 minutes to do. I have an 09 with 47K on it. It was pretty dirty with a lot of built up stuff on the inside. The intake is a little oily as well. I might need to change the PCV valve for good measure.
