Default Camping around the Outerbanks, NC??

Anyone been down there camping. My wife and I are looking to get away a few days.

Any recommendations?

We prefer wooded campgrounds.

Thanks!

Are you tent camping or trailer camping? Do you want shore power, w/water, and sewer? There is Frisco Woods Campground that has everything or there is the Frisco State Park, near the airstrip. This is the one we go to all the time, $20.00 a night, nice area you can hear the ocean, good breeze all the time, cold showers, toilets, just a nice area for the family. Hope this helps.

How about Cape Woods Campground in Buxton?
Don't know about that one, we have only stayed around the Frisco area, make sure when you go down that you drive up to Corolla they have a beach that is 20 or so miles long that you can drive on; this beach is also where you will find the wild spanish mustangs on too.

Yea I'm looking for a Tent campground, but still a place to get a shower (warm preferred, lol).
Electric not necessary.

Thanks!

Well there is a KOA at Cape Hatteras that I would think would have hot showers. Either have a great time, I'm laid up with a busted knee or I would see you down there!

My wife and I have done the KOA as well. Actually really nice campground and although not wooded the dunes make for a nice background. Just beware of the cactus!
