I do the same with my compressor. All the air in the world won't get all the water out of those mirrors!

I would also bet that if you had the holes drilled in your mirrors, it would suck all of the water out when you got enough air flowing over the surface.

By the way, I was washing my Jeep the other day. I hit my mirror with the hose and then counted to see how many seconds it took to drain. It had a steady stream for over 30 seconds. It holds more than I thought.

Once I got the drill and bit assembled it might have taken all of 15 seconds a side to line it up and drill the holes. Is this a mod?

It's high speed and low drag, but it is a mod.

How could you ask such a question, it's the best bang for the buck mod on the board. Just look at the number of reviews and replies. 2nd place. Wait until everyone that didn't do it starts wondering why their doors are rusting out at the bottom.

Great mod! About 15 seconds per side. A rather large quantity of water flows out. Do it while the JK is new so you don't have rusty doors later.

Did mine the other day and it drained like a mutha'.

I have also noticed that water seems to drip from where the torx bolt goes in. I wonder if that just needs a tightening.

Is this really possible? I honestly never cared about the drips because my JK is never clean for more than 10 minutes anyways and I rarely use soap.... Do you really think that the water dripping out will rust the doors? And isn't this something that DC would have to fix if it happened?

Don't get me wrong, it's a great mod-- I just thought eliminating the drip was more of a beauty thing than an actual protective thing....

When I saw how much water the mirror holds and took one of my mirrors off, I can't imagine that some of that water doesn't drip through the two mounting holes in the doors also. Can't say for sure that it causes water to sit in the door, but now I dont have to worry about it. Take one mirror off and you be the judge. Do it after you wash and dry it, or maybe after a long rain.
