I'm wondering whether we can collect some data about death wobble and the circumstances related to its occurrence. You'll note there's no option for people who haven't had it.

I'm talking ONLY about real DW, the violent, uncontrollable shaking that occurs at-speed and will only stop if you stop the Jeep. Real DW involves the steering wheel whipsawing back and forth in your hands. The usual Jeep shakes and shimmies don't count.

Normally get it after playing in the rocks due to a worn out steering stabilizer and knocking off wheel weights causing the tires becoming unbalanced. Happens if I stay between 40-45 mph for any length of time, if I stay below 40mph or quickly accelerate through that range to 50+mph I am fine. As soon as the tires are rebalanced the DW goes away. I recently replaced the worn out SS and did not need to rebalance the tires after my last outing in the rocks.

3 years, 30,000+ miles and 3 inch lift.

Never had death wobble, not even a little bit.

Only death wobble I have had was when I put in adjustable track bars. Using an impact gun but was stupid and did tighten the bolts down enough. Drove and it got scary. Tightened down everything I could and problem was solved.

I have had balance issues on the tires, minor bumpsteer, but have never had DW.

Don't forget that death wobble can even be triggered just from having too much mud caked onto your wheels throwing them waaaaaay out of balance. So there doesn't actually HAVE to be anything physically wrong with the suspension to get death wobble.

I broke the welds on the track bar mount on the frame once. Scary. Took a little while to figure it out because it was hard to see. The wobble sure as heck was real. Back then i had a 4" Rancho with 35's.

I've been experiencing death wobble for about a month now.... got a new trackbar and steering stabilizer on order and i'll be rotating and balancing my tires.... stay tuned for updates

2.5 inch lift, or no lift, never had death wobble. I have been on trail rides many times with 20 or more JKs, and I can say the topic of Death Wobble has never come up.
