Default Crimped my front bumper... Wait for metal replacement?

Hello everyone,

I just barely nicked one of my other cars when I was parking last night. The other car sustained no damage at all except a minor scratch, but the plastic bumper on my Wrangler sustained a decent "dent". Is there anyway for me to mold this back into place? How bad do you think it is? I might just hold out and get this in a little while. Does anyone have any experience with the Smittybuilt SRC front bumper?

Thanks in advance,

Get the aftermarket bumper. Or just do the stubby mod on the one you have now.

REmove the plastic bumper entirely and through it away!

The Smittybilt XRC is reasonable... also Rough Country has a short stubby for $189 on this forum. It is getting pretty good reviews.

Weclome to the forum. my stock bumper also took a hit early in the jeeps life while wheeling, resulting in a baseball size dent on the passenger side. And than again I somehow punched a small hole through on the drivers side. Save your money for a steel bumper. The plastic one will just get messed up again eventually if you wheel it. They should have painted targets on the ends of those silly bumpers. And it's not that bad anyways.

lol after you get out on the trails a few times a lil "dent" like that wont bother you at all...but i think youll be happy with an aftermarket bumper. my next mod is the smitty xrc, i think its a great lookin bumper and the price isnt too shabby either

If you want to keep your stock bumper for now do the stubby mod. Its cheaper then replacing it and I think it looks pretty good!
My little guy gave me a hand.. simple mod that works great

Thank you guys for all of the suggestions and welcomes. I'm really excited to get on this forum. This is my first Jeep and the community has been very welcoming. I think I'm either going to do the stubby bumper conversion or maybe just hold out for the steel bumper mod. Does the stubby bumper still provide decent protection? I guess the full stock bumper doesn't have any metal in the sides anyway.

I actually put some thought into what would have happened to the other car if I had a steel bumper on at the time... I guess I'll have to be a bit more careful.
