who has 4.10's and 35's with a 6spd? reason why i ask is, i am thinking of buy some rubi 4.10 gears to save some cash, and mpgs vs 4.88's. the gear chart shows 4.10's to be acceptable for highway use at 70 with full time 6pd. i am 90 percent highway driving so i am looking for the best of both worlds - power and mpgs thanks.

Have a rubi and 35's and its not enough gear. To maintain 70 youll be downshiftin to 5th quite often go 4:88

You will do fine in 6th on nice flat highway any ups and downs will have you shifting back and forth. There isn't much to be had past 70.

Even if you disregard the RPM aspect, there is the simple fact that rubi 4.10s will NOT fit in your axles...

There is a lot that goes into gear choice other than tire size, or should I say advertised size. Mounted size, tire and wheel weight, and rolling resistance all add up to determine your needed ration. 35's and 4.10's are doable but would require a light weight tire and wheel combo with a low rolling resistance to make it bearable. You're still going to loose 6th gear going uphill. If your dead set on running 35's before regearing run one on the smaller side (34ish) with an all terrain pattern to get the best performance. Safe your money and when you can afford it go 4.88's

I have 4.88, 35's and the 6 speed. I turn out 18.6 miles per gallon. Hope that helps you decide.
