You could probably make it seamless in appearance if you dremel out a groove on the stock bumper, just enough that the bumper cap slides in, hiding the edge. I'm sure it would take some Paris Rice though!

Here is mine and a buddies we just did. Going to do the winch mod that hides the winch within the bumper next week on the black one... much cheaper option, saves on front end sag from a heavy bumper, and doesn't hurt my mpg!

!!!!! 2 year update !!!!!
So it's been 2 years and I still have the VDP end caps. I've gotten so used to the way it looks I really don't want another bumper until this one is fubar. The caps still look as good as the day I bought them, wish I could say the same for the factory plastic bumper. I'm going to take the plastic off the front bumper and hit it with some plasti dip to make it look new again. I keep putting off the winch mount, but I think I'm almost there. I've been caught up with so many other upgrades I'm always about 3-400 dollars short of the winch I want.
Based on the amount of time since the installation and my experiences with this product I can gladly say that if I had the stock factory length bumper on my jeep that I wouldn't hesitate doing this again. Really is a solid product I still back years later!
