In my 07 JKU, I used the 'switched' accessory outlet on the left side of the panel. The ground was obvious, black with a white stripe. The positive wire was either red or purple with a white stripe. It was obvious to me when I pulled the panel back.

Troube was how short the wires were. It was a PITA to get a wire nut on there, but with some pulling and a couple of expletives I was able to get both seats and the spliced wire in one nut.

Well my wrenching skills fall well short of electrical issues.

I thought black was hot and the other wire was the negative or ground or what ever. I guess they are called line and load. I am not sure which is which.

Any wayi tapped the black so that explains why I have no power to the seats.
It also means i get to pul my 2012 dash apart again. That is a PITA. But since I have done it 2 itmes already I guess I am getting pretty good at it.

As a side note the nylon removal tools from Harbor Freight work quite well for this project.

I have 1 tap left. i guess Ill pull her apart again and tap the other wire.

That is a bummer.

At least it explains why there's no juice. The alternative of faulty heating pads would be a much bigger PITA.

Good luck.

It hasn't been real cold here, but I am impressed with these heaters. Even through the neoprene after five minutes have to turn it to low or off. Having high and low heat on the switch will be convenient. Very happy with this mod
