off-road MPG estimates
I'm new to the JK -- Curious what kind of ball park MPG or range off-road (18 gal tank) you are getting, and on what type of trail driving.

well in about 5 hours of wheeling. i didnt even use 1/10th of a quarter of tank of gas.
mainly 4lo driving too.
i wanna say....10-12?
lower for the parts where extreme acceleration was needed though. but its not enough to worry about, because youre not driving long distances while off roading. compared to driving normally.

I feel like my JK doesn't use any gas when it's in 4-lo on the trails. I take it nice and slow when I am off road, but still... I think you'll be fine on a full tank of gas. If you're really worried just get a Jerry can.

Thanks, Ranjr. I hate carrying fuel containers, but I'm thinking about it.
Found this: http://www.rotopax.com/Rock-Slide.html that straps onto the spare tire and holds two Rotopax mounts. Anyone used this, or have an opinion?

Stony Pass to Silverton, then Black Bear Pass to Telluride(?) Imogene Pass toward Ouray then Mineral Pass/Cinnamon Pass back to Lake City. We left Lake City about 730am and got back about 8pm with a lot of side trails and stops. It was a blast but long hard day - doubt I can get family to do it again.
