Call me crazy, but I love the way a diesel shakes and sounds and not to mention the endless possibilities for performance. Some motors are so "restricted" from the factory, exhaust alone can net 15 horses and %30 better mpg's. This jeep is the first gas engine I have owned and that is the ONLY issue I have with it.
On another note, I called jeepyard today, as I said I would. Coincidentally, the fella that answered the phone informed me that Jeff was on his way back from SEMA today, probably somewhere in Texas (I am in Ft Hood) and therefore couldn't quote a price for me. The word is that they want to drive their conversion in a different dirrection. I am on pins and needles now!

I'm debating finding a beat to shit engine and rebuilding it. I've always wanted to rebuild an engine. I found a couple for under 1000.... Over 150k on the motors and they look weathered, but maybe....

So, the kits are not for sale to do-it-yourselfers yet. I am one of those guys, so it looks like I will be waiting for a while longer. In the mean time, I ordered a master overhaul kit for the engine I have and will be starting that this weekend. All I have is a cherrypicker, but I think I am going to fab up a true engine stand or cradle. Kinda tough to rebuild an engine hanging from a chain haha.

as much as I'd love to have a 4BT engine in my JK i'm still going to go with the RIppmodds supercharger
i saw a jeep with a 4BT in it and it sounded amazing it rattled the hood and front tires like no other!!
but i was also in that boat for considering swapping the 3.8 for the 4bt.

But do you get the low end torque you get with a diesel? I haven't given forced induction a second thought for that matter. I guess I will read up on it.

The other main reason i'd go w/ a supercharger kit is because of how much less it would cost to do than rather to do a whole diesel engine swap. the SC is about 5k as opposed to the diesel swap which i think depending on which kit you go with would be around 20k.
