Default 2012 amp location

I think I remember reading that they moved the amplifier on the 2012's. I have the infinity system, and while it is ok....I want to punch it up. So in addition to finding out were the amp is, I would welcome suggestions on a replacement amp and speakers. I'm not replacing the head unit (730) and will apply acoustic dreading to the floor and poly fill the roll bar speakers. I've seen some plug in "adapters" that allow you to add RCA jacks to plug in another amp. Anyone try these? Thanks to all for any insight.

If you want to add an amp, you will need to install a Line output converter (LOC). I bought one for my old TJ from Best Buy for $20 and had them install it for $40. There are plenty of threads here and across the world wide web that have schematics so you can do it yourself.
