Default .001 Main Bearings?

Working on a 95 XJ 4.0 engine, doing a minor overhaul...The main bearings all have ".001" stamped on them- What does this mean? Could it have come from the factory like this, or does this mean it's been rebuilt at some point already? The rod bearings say "std" on them, so I know they are stock size...Thanks...

Are you sure it's .001", and not something like 0.01", or .010". I don't think .001 indicates over or under size. It could indicate the clearance when it was assembled.
