Sweet! I love seeing new 4x4s! All shapes, sizes and brands. If they offer their legendary 10yr 100,000 mile warranty I might have to bite.
(I'll still keep the JK though, let's not get crazy.) Cool find.

interesting article---don't believe some of the things they said in there about it actually competing with the wrangler. Jeeps have been around too long for a new 4x4 to come in and take the market

Quote from the Jalopnik article cited above:
"Given Chrysler's sorry fiscal state, don't expect the R&D monies for a new Jeep Wrangler to materialize anytime soon — which means the Wrangler's at its weakest cycle point in its product lifetime. That makes right now the perfect time for an automaker to come out with something — anything — to compete with the old man of 4WD vehicles."
There isn't a lot of foundation for this article.
All Jeeps are not created equal. Even in the hardest of times Wranglers sales have done well:

The big three are investing in their top sellers regardless of their financial position.
GM recently decided to invest $1B in the development of their next generation Silverado P/U inspite of "current" sales being below expectations.

And the Sergio (Chrysler CEO) is going to control sales margin on vehicles. Light trucks and SUVs are known to have higher margin than autos which is why GM is investing $1B and new Wranglers will be introduced.

Besides the more competitive this segment becomes, the better the JK and its descendants will be.

However, I like to see new competition!
- Hummer = FAIL!
- Defender 90 = Cool! But... too expensive, breaks a lot, and no longer available in the States! FAIL!
- Chinese KIFF = FAIL!
- Bronco = Long Gone! FAIL!
- Ensign 100 = Cool but… FAIL!
- FJ Cruiser = Best Comp but… Leaving again! So, FAIL!
- Suzuki Samurai = FAIL!

"Highly capable"... "highly likely" Why don't they show the ground clearance... maybe 'cause it looks like there's not much.
And what *IS* with the styling these days... like a cross between tonka toys and transformers.
Looks like ass. No wait... I've seen some very nice looking ass and this thing is ugly as a turd

Thats a picture of the ford bronco concept that Jalopnik photoshop'd a Hyundai logo onto.
If you read the actual text it says that its something they are brainstorming, not even a concept yet.
