No. It was the original 80,000 mile coverage for the manifold.

Can this ”glue” work on a cracked radiator just say it was leaking...

35912 miles and just replaced mine before the 36000 mile warranty is up. They said it was a small one.

That's all there is to it. I'll let you know how it holds up over time.

*** Update #1 8/04/2012 : 3 months and still holding ***
*** Update #2 9/11/2012 : 4 months and still holding ***
*** Update #3 7/08/2013 : 15 months and still holding ***
Glad I found this write up and thanks for the follow-up on how it held up -- makes me more confident this could be a permanent fix.

Mine cracked on the Drivers Side about 6 months ago (~55,000 miles). I just ignored it then because I'd heard it was a common problem that had a high likelihood of reoccurring if I replaced the the exhaust manifold. But, it needs to be taken care of.

Going to head down to Pepboys or Autozone today to find some ThermoSteel and patch it up.

Looks like Termosteel has been purchased by Blue Magic. The new product name is called Quick Steel Xtreme.

Did mine today on driver side, crack was hairline, but patched it up with ThermoSteel. Was just wondering has anyone had this problem with the passenger side manifold? I was thinking of just removing the heat shield and cheking it out.

Thanks

I have to fix mine as well. Do any of you think your gas mileage got better after fixing the leak. My MPG is terrible and seemed to start when this occurred. I've been putting up with it for at least a year but didn't realize what the problem was. I filled up today and went 278 miles on about 18 gallons.

Yes! I had the same problem. Drivers side cracked all the way around....loud and poor mileage! It fixed this about 9 months ago and still going strong! The leak causes a poor reading one the front o2 sensor which will affect fuel mixture.

Default Thanks OP!

Thanks to this post I am in the process of giving QuickSteel a go. I sprayed PB on the bolts, pulled the heat shield and found this sizable crack. At 6:30ET I hope to turn the key with a successful seal and quiet manifold! I only have 39K miles!
