I have an 07 X 6 speed with 3.21 gears... i ride texas trails with alot of clay and stagnant mud. Deep ruts too, but i am thnking i rather hug the sides / straddle the hump with 33s spinning than worry about the eventual breakage 35s will bring.

Will a set of 33x11.6" TSLs offer an advatage over the Rubi tak offs??? I can get them cheaper than rubi 32s now.

Are you talking radial or bias? Radial will wear closer to how the stock rubi tires do but bias won't last too long on the road. Some people say skinny tires are better for mud but I like wider tires. In my opinion if your not running a 37 anything smaller than that with more width does a little better. So I can't tell you whether or not to get them based on size.. But I would make sure sure you are ready to replace them again soon if you drive many road miles on bias tires

They look awesome. I had a set of TSL Thornbirds and had those things for years.

they're bigger and have bigger voids between the lugs and that alone will most likely allow them to do better in the mud. i would get them.

I am worried about lug size and void spacing- the extra clearance isnt a priority as I will never find the bottom of a rut with 33's... I could get some true 34's at this same price point but not sure it will offer any advantage.

I am thinking about nasty lugs spinning as fast as I can get them without worrying about snapping things... people keep trying to tell me I will regret not getting the 315's since I already have the lift/spacers. But regear isnt in my furture... will 34s help more than the 33s WOL?

These things are radials actually- and I put 40 miles a day on my ride over flat freeways in stop and go traffic.

They will be much better in deep mud then the stock Rubi tires, and tougher tires all around. They are noisy though and flat spot pretty bad when going slow but other than that, are great tires for offroad

Sounds good then. I would just hate to see a fellow jeeper buy a set of bias tires not knowing what many road miles would do to them.

... And now I am convinced with my setup and trails that I FREQUENT, tires are my logical choice for more performance. I can get a pair of NEW Treadwites in the GuardDog pattern for about the same cost:

I could do the more aggressive BACKBONEs but I would have to drop to a 16" wheel as they do NOT offer them in 17" OR 15" https://www.treadwright.com/p-56-305...e-2-m-t-d.aspx
