Default How do you Rotate 5 tires

How do you all go about putting your spare tire into the rotation?

It's up to you but you don't need to include the spare on the rotation. As far as I know front ones go in the back and back ones upfront. When I rotate mine I leave the spare alone.

I want to extend the life of my tires by rotating the 5th one in, thats my reasoning behind it.

Read the owner's manual. USUALLY, it's RR in spare, Spare on RF, RF to RR, LF to LR and LR to LF.

Redneck's absolutely correct on that ! And rotating all 5 gives you 20% less tire wear. Its not just a decoration for the tail gate !

I just bought a set of 35's and on a military pay check and a wife that doesn't understand the finer things in life I need these to last. Thanks for the help.

For a small pizza cutter street tire. Not for quality, bigger, mud terrains.

I put my spare into rotation too. I put my spare into rotation becuase I don't want 1 new tire and 4 very well worn tires. If I chose to get other brand tires, I have a mismatch issue. (Or, a flat at 40k miles, I got an issue.)

Here's how I did it:
Spare to RR
RR to RF
LR to LF
LF to Spare

Putting the spare on the drive wheel was my logic for choosing RR.

It's your jeep, you make the payments, you do as you see fit.

Just for clarification, I'm assuming you swapped the RF and LR?

Several have written exactly the way I do it as well. Sometimes a picture makes more sense. The one on the right for 4WD is the way I explain it.
