While I don't dislike the Liberty's I will agree they are engineered differently than the traditional jeep platforms. That said, with minor modifications they can still be quite a capable daily driver and I'll NEVER understand how an inanimate object can be designated male or female! It's a piece of machinery, and some people really like them which, at the end of the day, is all that really matters.
For those curious enough to try and understand the suspension, uni-body, transfer case, etc... differences that that set the Liberty on a completely different path than the Tj's, Cherokees and Grand Cherokees before it, here's an interesting read from an AMC Engineer's point of view: A former AMC engineer critiques the Jeep Liberty
