Does anyone know of any expedition type trails in NC? Hurricane Creek is the only one I know about. Any others?

Welcome...we like to take in the scenery out in the Western part of NC. Some of our drives include...

Old Hwy 105 is a very nice drive through the Linville gorge area

Maple Sally Rd FS187

Pineola road FR464 is a nice drive

Blue Ridge Parkway is always nice and there are tons of back roads off the parkway that are fun to explore

Google map links to these would be really nice. Except for the BRP, everyone knows where it's at

Blue Ridge Pkwy is paved the others are not. They are state maintained dirt roads.

If you want to try light to moderate, try brown mountain, too. ( State park) It opened April 1. $5/day and can be handled with stock jeep easily. Tight in a few places but fun. Weekends are busier as always and be careful of motorcycles.
