Airbag now too. Both of them within the same week. Parts are not available.

That part I don't know. I had been checking my VIN online pretty religiously and then an unrelated issue presented itself so I contacted a dealer that informed me of the active recall campaign. I was told to expect a letter and a letter showed up shortly thereafter.

I got a notice in the mail the other day that said there was a recall on the clock spring and that once the parts became available they would send me another letter so that I could schedule an appointment to get it replaced. I have an 08 JKUR

Problem with clocksprings were that there is a decent size inprotected gap between steering wheel and column bezel and the clockspring was visible and subject to dust and mud and debris. Resulting in airbag issues. Feds demanded a fix and to protect the clockspring better.
The fix is a new column bezel and steering wheel and i believe clockspring so the clockspring is protected better and not exposed to the direct elements in an attempt to prevent premature clockspring failure and air bag issues.
Also noted: there are a few different clocksprings depending on options of your JK. If you fix yourself make sure the part numbers match.

As far as the Pass Air bag i beleive thats a seperate issue.

anything happening with this? I'm still getting the light and dealership won't do anything about it until new parts are available.

Feels like if I die in a crash with no airbag because parts aren't available it would kind of be their fault.

I just brought my 10 JKUR in for the recall thinking they were going to replace the clock spring. All they did was hook the scan tool up and see if there were any codes with the clock spring.....since there were not any....no new clock spring

New Clockspring parts are not available yet.. I have been told that if your light is on they will replace with the old part number but will replace again when new parts are available.

My dealer, Huffines in Plano, TX had new parts. Mine was done a week ago.

Sent from some string and a few tin cans.
