Default Portable Ham Operations - Beach Side

This was my first go at a portable operation. QTH is Mountauk NY. I tried one day with an IMAX 2000. 10, 12 and 15 were all dead. The next day I whipped up a dipole out of lamp wire for 20 meter. This worked great. Radio is a Yaesu FT-991 running off a car battery which I also tie into the JK battery. What was so incredible is how quiet 20 meter was. I could hear so many stations. The mast is 1 3/8" OD fence top rail. The brackets that tie into the JK are Kindorf brackets and channel. This worked awesome. Very secure.

Great looking setup. I really like the way you built the antenna, nice compared to high priced alternatives.
