Thanks for the heads up on that, I didn't know that and have mine mounted to the tailgate.

Anyone know if cutting a hole in the red cap will change the SWR in a total bad way. Looks like crap without the red cap and I'm afraid the nut will loosen up with hitting something. I know the cap will change the SWR but wondering if cutting a hole at the tip of the cap will somehow destroy the wave ? Reason I want to cut a hole is its super hard to remove the cap. It forms one mean suction once you push it onto the antenna.

Use an open end wrench sized just right to get the cap off. It'll come off easy. Agreed. It really impacts the SWR.

Size it so the open end will be able to push the cap off. It works well.

You can use a crescent wrench too, adjust it so its pretty tight on the antenna mast and slide it up, the cap should pop right off. That way you are not pinching or putting any pressure on the cap as you try to remove it.
