Looking at the videos on Youtube, these dirt roads look fairly mild. I am considering leaving the front sway bar connected. Will this be the kind of roads that you would think that being connected is going to beat us up in the jeep, or are the roads fairly smooth and the sway bar is better left? I can pull the disconnects, but I hate dealing with the greasy ends if there is no need for it.

Absolutely disconnect. No question. You can leave them disconnected even on paved roads for your whole trip if you drive with that in mind.

Thank you! I actually had the sway bar removed and on the shelf, but 2 days ago I put the bar back on thinking that I might rather have it on these roads. I guess I'm lazy, so rather than deal with disconnects, I often just pull the 4 bolts and toss it on the shelf for weeks at a time. What I don't do is let anyone else drive it with no sway bars. It's a bit sloppy and leany.

Just be careful because these paved roads lead to death if you swerve or loose control from aggressive braking etc. I've seen someone die on these roads. Happens to often.

We had a blast! It's not hard core rock crawling or anything, but it's constant rocky roads and amazing scenery! We really enjoyed the massive views and mountains!
