Need advice on where to mount ground for tail gate antenna mount
Hey guys I'm pretty sure this has probably been asked a million times but, for you guys that run the tail gate antenna mount where and how do you use the ground to get better results for your CB radio. I have the Cobra 75 WXST thanks for any info and advice also pics would be a plus.

Thanks a lot jchappies, bought the same type cable yesterday at Autozone and was thinking of running the cable the same way you have and was going to attach it to the screw hold down in that same spot. But I like the idea of it going to the tub better. I see that you use those star washers is their a specific reason for it or would regular flat washers work as well. Again thanks for the pics it really helped and confirmed where I was going to mount the ground to.

The star washers give you 'bite' into the metal you're trying to get to ground. The mounts are usually painted and that makes for a terrible conductor. I did a similar setup but went straight into the tub with a self-tapping screw behind the carpet. In a perfect world you'd ground it to the frame and then run a secondary ground cable from the frame to the negative terminal on the battery. We don't live in a perfect world.
