Default Tire rotation

When does everyone typically do the first tire rotation? I have a JKUR with 6700 miles and dealer says scheduled is at 10,000. I have the MT tires on it. I always did around 5000 on my 2011 sport.
Just seems like a long time and I usually rotate my own.

Thanks!

I don't put enough miles on mine (too many vehicles) to go by miles. I rotate mine every 6 months when I do an oil change. If I was going by miles, it would be 5K. 10K could be 25% of the life of some tires.

I always rotate mine when I do the oil change, regardless of mileage.

My first set I rotated every 6,000 miles. They lasted about 76,000 miles.
This second set I am rotating every 3,000 miles to see if it makes a difference. They now have about 51,000 miles on them.

Sometimes; but mostly pavement. I'd like to put a set of hi-rail wheels on it so I can add steel to the mix.

I got 67,000 out of my stock Rubi tires doing a 4tire rotation. I could have probably gotten another 10,000 if I had rotated then more frequently. Two were getting closed to slick, the other two had quite a bit of life left in them. Didn't actually get a thread measurement on any of them when removed.

Doing the math, if I had done a 5 tire rotation, I likely would have kept them until around the 80,000 mile mark.

To answer the original question, I try to rotate very 3,000 miles. Usually end up doing it around 3,500 miles. 5 tire rotation. 315/70r17 GoodYear MTR K.

I'd rotate them every 5K or 6 months. I have mine rotated every 6 months when I have the oil change done.

Rotating these aggressive tires often makes a world of difference in even wear and getting more miles out of them.

10K miles is too long.

Rotate them every oil change. The stock KM's that come on the Rubicons are known to cup pretty badly if they aren't rotated often.
