Please Help - Electrical - M28 Fuse Blowing
Hi,
I'm a new owner of a 2007JKUR 6 speed. Loving the vehicle, but have just discovered a recurring problem with the M28 fuse. It has blown multiple times when traveling on rough roads - and when it does the engine shuts down completely. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated - especially since I'm in the middle of an Alaskan roadtrip!

M28 is NGC/ Trans Feed (Batt) @ 10amps for those without the diagram in front of them.

Sounds like a chafed wire.
M28 feeds the powertrain control module, and the anti-lock brake module.
If the TIPM, (fuse box), has ever been removed, it may have been jammed back in upon re-installation, causing a wire to eventually chafe through.
Fuse M28 feeds wires in TIPM connectors C2 and C5.
Here is a picture showing the connector numbers.
I would raise the TIPM from its cradle and look for evidence of a chafed wire in connectors C2 and C5. If you think you will want to disconnect any of the TIPM connectors, disconnect the battery negative terminal first.
If everything looks good, trace the wires, looking for a chafe elsewhere along the route.

Thanks!
I lifted the fuse box - but no signs of chafing. I did notice however that the box had rubbed part way through the power steering hose- so this has saved me a nasty surprise! Next step is to trace the wires. Can anyone tell me where the powertrain control module, and the anti-lock brake module are located?
Much Appreciated!

Mine was M38 I think. It was the the fuse that controlled the windshield washer fluid spray. It happened after a rough trail. It was the TIPM module. Expensive part. Really sucked. You can do it yourself. Mine is an 08 auto.
