They are cropping up here and there on ebay. Some of them aren't labeled specifically as 09 mygig, but when they say what it was pulled from, it was an 09 vehicle.

Any word on how large of a HD the MyGig will read? I was thinking about doing this mod with like a 400GB drive to see just how much I could stuff on the thing and still have the MyGig read it all successfully.

I don't know the max size, but I will tell you this from experience. I currently have a 160GB in mine. I have about 85GB of music on it. The more music you put on it, the slower it becomes. So when I start my JK up, it takes 3-5 minutes, before I can play music from the HDD. It's still nice to have that much music on it.....but the more you have....the longer it's going to take for the MyGig to read all that music and make it available to play.

The HDD is a IDE 2.5" drive.....do they even make 400GB IDE 2.5" drives? Seems like most of the drives in that size range would be SATA drives.

I think I have like 320+ tunes on mine now...put 85 more on it today. It says there are 112 pages in the browse list. It is slower even now with that much on it. It also seemed like the new software update may have slowed it down some too. Am I the only one noticing this?

I have no idea about this. My guess is that you are probably right about this.

After a search on EBay it looks like the largest drive that is IDE/PATA is 160GB. I found a few 160GB IDE 2.5 4 Panasonic Toughbook 37 45 47 48 50 51 replacements on EBay http://cgi.ebay.com/160GB-IDE-2-5-4-...item518a8f8669 for $61 with free shipping. The Toughbook hard drives may be a good choice as those laptops are made to be durable and this hard drive says is has "Stiffness-reinforced base casting construction offers enhanced stability and greater vibration/shock resistance" I haven't tried it but for $61 may be worth a try.

Would anyone be willing to image their Mygig drive (with linux DD) compress and put it somewhere for download? I would be most interested in a recent 430N image. I want to start poking around to see what else might be possible with the built in media center.
