this info needs to get out ... went to local tire shop here Canadian tire and had a look at the stock tires they were selling ..lots of them had an 2004 manufacture date .. Next i am going to check out COSTCO here see whats on the floor ? Also good idea to copy and paste link and email it to everyonre we know outside of this group ...

Does anyone remember the story with Firestone and Ford explorer with the tires cumming apart or tread separating ? And those were new tires ..poorly made !!!!

Why is that? What keeps them from drying out while being used? They are in the sun, heating up and cooling down over and over again, and being flexed and bumped constantly. It's hard for me to figure that.
It looks to me that tires should be replaced after 6 years no matter what.
Isn't America great? We'll put a "sell buy" date on a can of Coke, something that would taste OK if you opened the can 20 years from now, but we won't put an expiration date on something that is a matter of life and death.
And that tire industry spokesman reminded me of the guy in this cigarette ad
