I'll pick up some cleaner this weekend (should need to fill up by then) and put it in.

It will be hard to tell if it does anything since it's so uncommon, but if nothing happens for a month i'll call it fixed

Thanks for the quick help, I'll keep ya posted on the results (if there are any lol).

Sounds good let us know if it works for you. Hows your idle otherwise? Is it smooth all the time?

I sent you a PM. This is from an article on cleaning the throttle body..

I cleaned my mass airflow sensor this afternoon to clear up rough shifting with my engine cold. I figured while i was in there and had a can of carb cleaner i would clean out my TB. I used an old toothbrush to help and upon pulling it out it looked like i had spray painted it black. I would highly suggest throttle body cleaning very often. Every six months or so. Cleared up my cold start issues and i have a noticeable gain in acceleration.
Needless to say, I ordered the cleaner and will be doing this soon.

The way I understand it, which may not be correct, take it for what it's worth, is that the newer throttle bodies are not like the older version in that they have a "plasticized" covering over the metal, and carb cleaner is deadly to this coating, it's will melt the plastic and affect performance. I just remember reading this somewhere in the last two years, but I don't remember where.

(OK, short net search says most likely just Fords, but I'd still look closely at the issue before jumping in.)

So Hellbound13, did you try cleaning the throttle body? If so did it work?
