4-door Rubicon with auto trans. Started out getting around 16.5 mpg. After putting about 1800 miles on it, I'm at 18 mpg with most of the driving being in-town with the AC on (I live in Phoenix).

My 2 door "X" with 6spd
22 mpg on 2 tanks traveling state roads 55-60mph
20 mpg on 2 tanks traveling Interstate Hwy 70-75mph
That's all I've put in it so far
You've got to keep your foot out of it.
My '98 TJ also took a real mpg hit when you wound it up
