personally I keep my Springfield Arms XD .45 handy and I usually have at least my marlin .22 if not my colt ar-15 or a 12 gauge in the jeep as well... I plan on getting a "pocket gun" just for the heck of it.

i trust my life with my XD Sub-Compact .40 loaded with Federal HST's. its been through hell, mud, etc, and still fires true. i also carry a P220 in the winter with either Gold Dots or Ranger Talons, and a S&W Backpacker Edition .44 Snub nose with 320 grain rounds when i hike.

I just carry my tiny little Sig 226 40 cal.. 15 rounds, 180 grain, personal defense should keep most things safe. wife carries he service beretta 9mm from the navy, not the best weapon ever, but i wont stand where she could get a rapid burst off

glad to see springfield armory getting a little love - Ive got the xd 9mm 4" barrel (I've got gianormous palm-a-basketball hands so anything smaller is ridiculous) and i love the dual safeties, weight of the gun, and the handling. I loved my sig p226 and glock 10mm but for the price the xd wins hands-down...they are comparable guns except when you see a $500-$600 pricetag instead of a $800-$1200

Not too many pistols look that good even after being carried for just a couple of years.

I like my XD .45 compact but no way will it's appearance hold up like your Colt's.
