I ran a parts of it this past weekend, west of Lanfair road to Essex road. Anything I can help you with, I pass the start of it everyday on the way to work.

I've done Laughlin to Barstow in 3 days and 2 nights. We felt like one more full day would have been great. Getting through the trail is pretty low stress and easy going, we just didn't have a ton of time to see the sights. We plan on doing it again sometime this year, just need to get the dates figured out.

We have run the Mojave Trail at least once a year for the last three years, we always do 3 days 2 nights but seems like we never have enough time to see everything, this year we will be heading out there the Presidents Day weekend and adding an extra day. We will be running it Laughlin to Barstow, just makes for a shorter drive home after a long weekend on the trail.
A good book to take along on that trail that will point you to all the points of interest is. As others mentioned, it is an easy trail but fun and with lots of stories behind it.
"Mojave Road Guide" An Adventure Through Time.
I think its by Dennis Casbier (don't know if I spelled that name correct.
I picked it up a few years ago on Amazon.

I have been wanting to do this trail. I can do early April, and May as well. Are you planning on starting this on a weekday into weekend?

Running the trail after Mid-March has the daytime temps in the mid-nineties or higher.
