Can someone help me understand what the determining factor is for the adjustable piece of the carrier? I've got 35 inch Duratrac's and the spare fits on the stock carrier. I know I need to upgrade and want to get the Teraflex carrier, but don't know if I need the adjustable part?

I picked up the carrier, but not the hinge. The plan was to upgrade to a new rear bumper/tire carrier in the near future. After seeing that vid I am wondering if I should have picked the hinge up as well.

The adjustable portion allows you to pull that spare in snug against the tailgate vs hanging off several inches away. Give us a call if you have any more questions.
