Default JK specific skid plates from Clayton Off Road Mfg.

Over the past few years we have designed a couple of skid plates for JK owners. We now have models to fit both the pre 2007-11 and the new 2012+ models. Each of the skid plates were designed in 3d Solidworks, and specifically built to work with our long arm kits. They are made of 1/4" steel, CNC laster cut, and CNC bent for maximum accuracy, strength, and a superior fit.

You can check out all of our JK specific skid plates here.

Do these bolt right up? Is the oil pan skid needed in order to use the transfer case skid? You said it specifically works with your long arm kit, does that mean its needed to run these?

They require our crossmember to work, either the long arm or the HD crossmember.

Since they are designed for long arm suspension dose that mean they cover less area compare to a skid plate that is not designed for a long arm suspension?

Because of where the long arms would go, there is less area that would be covered. These areas don't really have anything that is in danger like your transfer case or oil pan. Bottom line, it's a non issue because these skids cover the important parts of your JK.

Thanks,

Can I ask the reason going with 1/4" steel? I see some companies use 1/4" and some use 3/8".

Because of the application and design, 1/4" is enough. Adding more material just adds more weight.

Thank you for the answer. One more question. Can you post more pictures from different angles?

Is there a certain skid you are looking for? Or pictures of all of them?
