2012 battery - sudden death
My 2012 Jku has been perfect since I bought it new 2.5yrs and 50,000 miles ago. Suddenly this morning the battery was stone cold dead. Took a while, but I was able to jump it. Then the instrument panel went wacky as the jeep was driving. I installed a new battery. Problem solved.

Yes, factory battery. Went with Walmart Maxx everstArt. Actually has higher CCA than the factory. Comes with 3 yr total replacement warranty. Cost $117 after core.

Rob_engineer, mine did the same exact thing. 2012 with 50k came out of work and batt was completely dead. Took a while to jump and then gauges went crazy. I went with the Walmart Ever start Maxx . great deal and no issues so far.I am guessing 50k is the life expectancy of the factory batt.

2012 drove fine two days ago, came out yesterday morning and the battery is so dead it could nearly unlock the doors. I was getting on to the forum for help to find the electrical short, until I saw this at the top. Of course I never trust advanced to check my batteries, they never got it right when I had opimas. how can I test the battery, take it to sears?

I went 3 weeks at a time with out diving my 2012 and the battery would be dead. I ended up putting a trickle charger on. I know it's not the same but I can leave my bike or z3 for months and they start right up.

Most auto parts stores can load test a battery for you. Most batteries including one that won't start your car, unless dead shorted, will read 12 volts. But when you put a load on them a dead one will collapse.
