Default rubicon reliability

I have been considering a new jku rubicon but I'm worried about reliability of the sway disco and lockers. I would be keeping it stock and doing mostly mild offroading: mud, trails in pine barrons, beach, etc...

Default Rubi

I think the Rubi is more reliable because of its beefed up components. Get one!!

I love my 2010 Rubicon, it is amazing what it will do purely stock. The only problems I have had were operator error when I first got it and didn't know how things were supposed to work. We have come to a better understanding of each other since then.

Mine has been reliable. I have seen others where the lockers and disco did not work, but a computer reset fixed it (disconnect the battery for 30 mins).

Hmm, got 60k on my 2009 Rubi, only issue was failure of the mygig hard drive. Also at the end of original tires. Just shoving gas and lubricants in it.

You can get a lifetime bumper to bumper warranty for it for $2k. If you are going to keep it stock get the warranty and never worry. If you are going to modify save your money

I'm been out having a blast with mine being basically stock. I've been really putting the skid plates to work

PS: I have 43,500 mile on it and was hoping the tires were going to last 60K. (35" next).

Mine has been doing very well. No problems since the porous timing chain case back in April '08.
I was returning from western Maine today, thinking what a fun vehicle it is. It's dirty as hell though, because of the mud and snow in the woods. I left it in 2wd to see how it handles the muddy/snowy/icy woods roads. The traction control did a great job, even when I deliberately used too much gas going up hill, to see how it would react.
I'm going out with it again this weekend, and will be camping in it. Maybe I'll rinse it off next week, (or wait and let the rain do it).

My 07 I bought new has never had a problem. I don't use the lockers a whole bunch, you probably won't either for mild wheeling. They have however, got me out of a few tough spots.

I use the E-swaybar and I really like it. I can be lazy by just pushing the button.

The axles and even the stock driveshafts have held up to almost 23k miles of 400+ horsepower. I am really careful in 4-lo, but the thing has been through some hard launches on the street. The tires holding up?...well not so much. Thats not the Jeeps fault.

This Rubi is tougher than I thought it might be.
