2013 late build... engine code po306
I have a late build (built may 2013) jk, fairly sure I have the new version heads., has 39k miles and runs great, but has recently been throwing a po306.. 6 cyl. Misfire. If I clear the code it pops back up in a few days. Is there anything I can check before going to dealership, my 3/36 warranty is up but still have power train warranty. Do you think it would,be covered. I heard sometimes just a plug or maybe coil pack? One more thing it has always had a nice tick from the left side head from 12k on but has always ran great, I sure hope it not the head issue. Any advice?.

2012 and 2013 Wranglers have a warranty extension for the left head, (drivers side on a left hand drive Wrangler). I don't see any build date restrictions in the service bulletin. You still have the regular powertrain warranty, so you will be covered if the head is bad.
It addresses those engines throwing #2, #4, #6, and Multiple Misfire codes.
They will do a leak-down test on #6 cylinder, since you have the code for that one.
Yours has the typical symptoms: ticking and a #6 misfire code.

I had this same code and it ended up being the cylinder heads luckily the dealership fixed it under warranty and its been good since. Even though i didnt have my jeep for a week while they were doing it.
