Update on my previous post, took the jeep in last Thursday and turns out it is the oil cooler/filter housing. Asked the service manager if he had seen many of them defective yet and he said a few but there is no recall on them and didn't seem to think there is much of a problem with them, then he checked for replacement parts which they did not have in stock and upon ordering one he informed me that my part is on backorder with 367 on backorder in front of me. Would almost seem to me with that many on backorder that it might be more of a problem than not. I cant complain to much, they gave me a 2015 Chrysler 200 to put miles on while we wait for the part to come in but I would have not been happy if it would have happened away from home!!!!!!! Hopefully the new part is updated and I don't have to go thru this process when its not under warranty any longer.

Just took my 2014 JKU , 2600 miles, in yesterday for an oil leak. Dealer called and it is the same issue as OP was having. Getting it replaced as soon as they can get in the replacement part which is on backorder. Had more issues with my '78 CJ-7.

Only bc this thread keeps popping up.....I was kinda pissed at first about how everyone thrashed the OP for posting a potential safety/mechanical hazard. Then I noticed that everyone chiming in with the same issue had 5 or less posts as well. I have '14 and don't know what's up. But I know I'm real.....

My 2014 has been leaking fun for some time now. They must have installed too much of it at the factory.

Yeah, and these are just the people who are on the forum. I would imagine there are lots more who are not. It seems like almost every day some one new is posting that the problem has hit them to.

In the end what's the worry. I have a 5yr/100k warranty, if I breaks down or seizes up on the side of the road somewhere Jeep will be paying for the tow and the fix. Why worry about it. That's what warranties are for.

Do you guys think other manufactures don't have issues like this?

Well, that's if Jeep doesn't void your warranty. Some people have big issues, some don't. I hope you never have a warranty issue. I have heard of many people having issues due to different wheels, lifts, too much off-road use..etc.
