u'd just see the fluid all over...well, everything past the end of the axle tube. wouldn't necessarily cause any catastrophic situation, but it should be replaced asap

Default axel seal

07 Rubicon. no mods yet. 24,000 mi Have not had a seal leak but I did take it in for what I thot was a diff cover leak. dealer replacer the axel assembly, leaking where tube inserted into pumpkin.

My passenger rear was leaking at about 10000 mi. No mods at the time. The dealer pointed it out to me and fixed it the next day when the parts came in. No problems since.

17k miles and haven't notices a leak - no mods either. Gonna keep an eye on it though. Good to know this might happen.

very true. i love this forum because it lets u know what to keep an eye on, aside from the advice and help you can get for problems/issues not yet discussed
