Can I remove TPMS and just put normal valve stems on factory wheels?

Default Can I remove TPMS and just put normal valve stems on factory wheels?

In the stock Sahara wheels, will standard rubber valve stems fit in the place of TPMS, or no?

I put solid brass valve caps on the wheels. OVer the winter the brass reacted with the aluminum valve stems, and they became permenantly fused together. 2 valve stems broke off altogether when I tried to remove the caps, and the others have damaged threads.

I want to get rid of the TPMS altogether.

I really need to replace ONLY the aluminum valve stem on the TPMS, but no one (including Jeep) sells just that part, you have to buy the whole TPMS ($35 x 4).

Ouch! That's why the TPMS comes with the gray caps. Not only so you know there's a TPMS sensor inside but so there's something that wouldn't react to the aluminum stem. You just performed a science experiment called "Bi-metal electrolysis corrosion"!

You CAN get rid of the TPMS Sensor if you don't mind the ding (x5 assuming you do the spare too) and can live with the butt symbol (_!_).

You can disable the TPMS with something like the AEV Procal, but that will set you back ~$129. May be cheaper to try to find a deal on Ebay for the sensors. Or live with the down sides. Your choices!

Those sensors break too easily and get expensive to replace. So...

Remove all the sensors, get a ProCal, turn the system off.
Or
Remove all the sensors, don't get a ProCal, and live with the light.

Either is better than replacing sensors

Like stated above, get the AEV ProCal and turn the system off, which I did. Or, live with the TPMS chime/light.

x3 on the ProCal. Get that and shut off your TPMS.

WILL the normal valve stem actually fit into the hole in my factory wheel ?

Does anyone sell just the alunminum valve stem piece?

I agree in the long term to replace the TPMS units, or use the procal tool. For now I want to save the $$, I can take care of it later.

Funny thing happened with my sensors. I have an 07 auto 4 dr and i took it to get the new wheels and tires put on. Told the tire shop about the sensors and had the new stems ready. Turns out my factory wheels did not have sensors....? We checked all the wheels and not one had it. I couldnt explain it, but it turned out to be a lot cheaper. Not sure why mine did not come with sensors.

I don't think the 07's had the sensors if my back reading is correct.
