It will remove the hard top and windshield hinge bolts, but not the doors. Doors require a T50 bit. I'd just try to borrow one from somewhere since you can leave the nuts off when you put the doors back on without any problems.
I agree, Jeep should have provided tools to do the job...

Throw those bolts away
Then after you have taken them off with your T40, throw them in the trash and replace with these:
Hardtop Quick Disconnect T-Bolts
from Cooltech LLC. You'll still need to keep your T40 for the windshield, but you won't need it for the hardtop ever again.

I'd buy a small set that comes with it's own little rubber boot, and keep that in the little storage cubby in the back of the jeep, that's what I did so it doesn't get mixed up with all my other tools. Plus you never know when or where you might want to take the top off.

the only reason I bought these Torx bits are cause of my JK. I invested $12 bucks for a 6 piece torx set in which I only needed 2 of the sizes. I wish they would of provided the torx bits cause now I have 4 torx hand tools (T60, T55, T47, T45) that I'll probably never need to use.
