Default clutch needs replacing at 41,800 miles...

$1,100 dollars to replace the clutch on a 4 year old Jeep! I drove my 96 for 15 years and never had a problem...what the hell?

whos been driving the jeep? have they been grinding the clutch?

Something's amiss if the clutch went out. I had to replace my throwout bearing at 95K miles and the clutch still looked great. Ended up replacing it as well, of course ...



It is a lot of work. I now have a main bearing seal leaking; don't look forward to pulling the tranny again. :-(

most of the 1100 is likely labor but doing it yourself is an option if you know what you are doing, have 2-3 people to help, and the tools......
