Was having trouble putting my 2007 6-speed manual Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited(115k miles) into gear. It was both having trouble getting into to gear and then once in gear making some weird grinding noises at lower RPMs. I took it into the shop and they said my transmission was bad. As I understand it, these transmissions usually last a lot longer.... However, I do also have the gear popping out of 1st issue too, so perhaps it has shortened the lifespan?

Thoughts?

Sounds like it is the Synchros are going or gone out.
