death wobble
OK so my 08 jk is all stock. I had got used tires for jeep. Before I got the tires itbwas riding fine no death wobble or anything. When I got the new tires which were 255/75r17 it started giving me the DW. My old tires were 265/70r17....you think the tire size would be the problem for The DW.

DW can be caused by several different things. My 2010 JKUR got it after I installed a new front bumper and 9500lb winch. My tires were shot anyway, so I took it in to have it checked out and new tires put on. Turned out the combination of bad tires, bad alignment, and an added 150lbs on the front caused the wobble. Changed the tires, got an alignment, and for good measure, changed the steering stabilizer. I haven't had DW for the last 5000 miles.
I would try new tires first. Most common cause though, is a loose track bar at the frame. There are several threads in here about DW. They all have good information about DW and can help diagnose.

After the DW happen a second time I went and got new tires...back to the same size I had before the DW came...so far nothing...just wondering what could cause it

Given that the tire the OP moved to equates to a 32 inch tire which is what a rubicon comes with and lots of folks are running 35s or even 37s on stock 17 inch rims. No.
Edit - for that matter all they did was change side wall height as their overall diameter stayed at 32 inches.

It was the tires not the fact that they were larger but that they were just crap. I've had the same thing happen. My tires started becoming crap 285/70 17, and I got death wobble developing. Changed them out and no more death wobble with 315/70 17.
