Default I have a soft top on my TJ

and after having a soft top jeep w/half doors for 15 years, one of my buying criteria was to get a hard top with full doors.
For years, I would take the full soft top completely off, putting on a full length bestop bikini top on memorial day, switching it back out on Labor day.
I got tired of the noise, the heat or the cold, the hassle of putting up/down, that for the new one, I knew I was only interested in a hard top/full doors.

I still have the TJ, so if I want the full top off experience, otherwise, removing the freedom panels does it for me.

On my first jeep, I had both tops.....Soft top from april to october.... hard top during the winter months. While having both tops was nice ( pros and cons to both), it was a real pain to switch them out (finding a place to store the hard top in summer, trying to beg friends to help me, etc). When I upgrade to my JKU, I only wanted the soft top for convenience. Just less of a hassle for me

I just bought a barely used soft top for the summer. The soft top is great but in my opinion it's a lot more work to maintain than a hard top. The bestop super top I have is a lot louder than the hard top but it feels more like a Jeep.

I live in the South, getting a hardtop never crossed my mind...and still doesn't.

The soft top is what makes it a Jeep. I'd rather put it up to drive my son to school when is still 50° out, take the top off and then put it up again before bedtime, than have a hard top. Once you commit to topless on a hard top, it's a lot of work to change your mind. That's why they seem to never come off. Hardtop=square car.

Soft top, half-doors is the only way to go!

I live in NORCAL though so even when it rains, I don't get too wet.
