Default Error in odometer ?

My 09 JKU has "error" in the odometer space. How do I fix this? Thanks.

If the cluster is unable to display odometer information due to an error internal to the cluster, the odometer will display error.

First thing I would try is disconnect the battery negative cable for a few minutes.
See what it shows after you reconnect the cable.

This doesn't sound great. Seems like google searches mainly turn up results with this issue for the Liberty.....and those mainly sound like cluster issues. Did you try disconnecting the battery for a bit as the first step? Subscribed and curious to see if someone else who has experienced this chimes in.

Probably wishful thinking in regards to the battery, but at least it's free to try. In those Liberty threads, seeing a few that talk about a dealer reflash. Not sure what that would cost but might be worth a call to the dealer just to see so you'd know. Mileage shouldn't be stored on the cluster itself, so seems like something between the computer and the cluster got off.

Were you able to make any progress on this? Just curious if you did reflash, and if so, did it work?

Dang. Did they charge you anything to flash it? Really stinks cuz it looks like clusters are in that $300 range for a new one online. Wonder if you could find one at a salvage yard (even if online) for cheaper.

Thanks for the info, I just emailed them as I need one that is in KM's and for a RHD JKU. And yes I was charged for the flash, they said if that didn't work that I probly need a new cluster. Thanks again.
