Should I be worried about this and if I should how do I fix it?

Replace the shaft with an aftermarket one. Problem solved. But the joint will eventually seize and fail with a ripped boot.

it will just keep getting chewed up. spend another $300 vs the repair kit and get an aftermarket ds.Oliver, reel, tom woods, coast etc.

Don't repair it just replace it. Adams driveshaft makes good quality driveshafts for around $400. I run it and so do many other people.
