I've used mine once. But I needed two. In the rocks. It would suck if we didn't have them. Broke both my front and rear axel.

you mean the "Widow Maker"?
Very dangerous if you are not experienced with it. Mine lives in my storage unit and doesn't get used.

I had floor jack lent out to someone when I had to do full brakes I used my Hi-Lift it's not the safest option but works when needed defiantly would not of used without jack stands it swayed from the wind while lifting

I've used mine a few times in the year that I've had it. Had to flip my swaybar back after snapping end links. I used it to put some rocks under my tires when I got high grounded in about 14" of snow. And I used it to winch my wife suv out of the ditch in a different snow storm.

I've since bought a winch which would have helped in two of those three situations, but as you can see it will still have its place.

Sorry to get off topic, but I thought to check clearance you need to remove the coils, as stuff gets torn off during dynamic maneuvers (e.g. falling off a rock) instead of static ones like you've pictured since the force of the former will be a lot greater and compress the coils a lot more. So bump stops will be what the weight rests on rather than coils to check clearances.

I've got the First Responder version but painted the yellow bar gloss black. I've only used it a handful of times for jacking the jeep up but it's primary purpose is for widening/extraction/jaws of life.

The modified/upgraded base that comes with it makes it more suitable for SHTF scenarios. Better to have one and not need it, then....

I didn't take the time to comprehend exactly what you're saying... but from the bit I gathered...

Do you Offroad without your coils? Because I don't. The only thing removing coils does is make it easier to cycle the suspension without having the coils raising the jeep. In this photo I was ensuring my shocks were not bottoming out before my coils were fully compressed.

If you were coming down hard off a ledge, wouldn't your coils compress even more on landing than what you've pictured?

I'm interested to see how the new Hi-Lift roll bar mount will fit in the 4-doors. I don't carry one, but I'd be more inclined to if I could carry it inside without taking up floor space.

I do have a surplus van bottle jack, but I could foresee getting into a spot where lifting under the axle isn't really what I need, or setting the jack would involve going for a swim. I have Hi-Lift points on both the front and rear bumpers anyway, so...
