Very possible. Also many times engines with ring blowby will have visible smoke coming from the exhaust which I have never seen on mine

Yeah, the 2-stage cats on the JK burn off the oil at high temperatures so you don't see much smoke at the tailpipe like in the "old days". Usually after JK motors are replaced or rebuilt due to high oil consumption, the O2 sensors and cats usually fail and have to be replaced due to the damage the burning oil does to them.

Why is everything blamed on mexicans, bad enough we are to blame for bringing crap loads of drugs through the border, its always a racial thing......im kidding i can say it cuz im mexican right? I bought an 08 jk 4dr with 40k miles n have had no oil issues. Maybe it would be good to get poll going of year and tag of the engine n consumtion or normal, unless it had been done? I hope no one gets affended by the mexican joke lol

It has been suggested many times.
Not many people seem to want to put the effort into looking at their engine number.

What about at cold start up? If you rev it to 2-3,000 rpm, do you see blue smoke? Anyone else?

No smoke at startup unless it is cold out which us normal. I have never seen blue smoke come out.

The normal "smoke" on cold start-up is water vapor.
If there is true smoke on cold start-up, it's most likely oil getting by the valve stem seals. It would be visible before the cats get hot enough to burn it off.

Have you gotten your Trans fixed yet?

Default country of origin

If anyone still has the window sticker from their jeep when it was new, it will say country of origin for the engine and transmission. Mine is an 08 2dr sahara auto and say's United States for both. I belive this means that both were made in this country. If someone has a country of origin for the engine made in Mexico post it up.
